Wittering is a large village in the United Kingdom. It is in the east of England, the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire and under the unitary authority of Peterborough. As of the 2001 census the population of the village was 2,297.

Historically the village was part of the county of Northamptonshire until 1888 when it came under the newly-formed administrative county of the Soke of Peterborough and the ceremonial county of Cambridgeshire.

Geographically speaking Wittering is roughly 70 metres above sea level in a region which has the lowest range of elevation in the United Kingdom. The village is dwarfed by the adjacent airfield and facilities of RAF Wittering which is a major employer in the village and wider local area. Arable farmland is the other significant use of remaining land. The A1, a major trunk road which connects the cities of London and Edinburgh, straddles the village on the north eastern side.

Nearby settlements include the small villages of Thornhaugh (2.1km) and Southorpe (2.6km); the larger villages of Wansford (3.2km), Barnack (3.4km) and Easton on the Hill (5.0km); the town of Stamford (5.6km) and the city of Peterborough (14km).
