This website is designed to tell the history of Wittering, a village in rural Cambridgeshire in the United Kingdom.
My belief is that every place has a story to tell, and every story deserves to be heard. As far as I could see, no one else has attempted to construct a complete narrative to tell Wittering’s story, so I’ve taken it upon myself to do exactly that.
Over the past few years I’ve used my free time to piece together research from a range of sources to try and build up a more complete picture of Wittering’s history. I’ve learned much along the way, but still have far much more to learn.
This website will document my journey, giving me a place to share what I have learned, what I hope to learn in the future, and the questions I pose as I continue on this path.
Ultimately I hope this website will serve as a valuable resource for anyone wanting to learn more about Wittering, or perhaps more generally, for anyone that shares an interest in local history.
